My Hard Candy Collection!!

Hey Ladies! I just wanted to make a quick post to show you my current Hard Candy collection. Hard Candy products can be purchased exclusively at Walmart and www.walmart.com. I can't say enough about this brand. I love every single product I have purchased so far, and I will continue to purchase products from Hard Candy and recommend the brand to all of my friends, family and readers! Hard Candy is a makeup brand that is not for women who like the "all natural" look. All of the products are vibrant colors, perfect for making a statement of individuality!

Here is a photo of my whole collection!

I am now going to show you closeups of all the products I have and just tell you a little bit about them.

Hard Candy sells sample packs with mini versions of their products, incase you want to try them first before buying the full size product, which I think is super cool. Minis/samples above: Blush Crush Baked Blush in "Living Doll", Glow All The Way in "Doll Face", Sheer Envy Face Primer, and Ginormous Lash Mascara in "Blackout", Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Gloss in "Girl Next Door". The only items I did not buy from those above in a full size is the mascara, but that is simply because I already have a mascara that I love. I also did not purchase the full size of the Glow All The Way Luminator in "Doll Face" because to be honest the sample size is more than enough to last for a very long time!

I would like to talk about lip products next:

Plumping Serum Volumizing Lip Glosses in "Girl Next Door", "Pink Lady" and "Uptown Girl".(from right to left in the photo) These are such amazing lip glosses! I will be honest in saying that they don't really plump your lips like they claim to do. Other than that though, I give these 5 stars ***** ! They are pigmented, they smell and taste great, and they last long on your lips and go great over lip sticks! They have the perfect amount of glitter in them too. I highly recommend these!

Button Your Lip Ultra Wet Lip Gloss in "Pixie", Automatic Lip Liner in "Blush", Painted Lady Lip Color in "Knock-out". All 3 are wonderful, I love the lip stick, it's pigmented, VERY moisturizing, and not too shimmery, it has a glossy finish with not too much frost and no glitter, which I love.

I am going to talk about face products next!

Let's start with Hard Candy's face primers: Sheer Envy Primer, Sheer Envy Skin Perfecting Primer. These are both great in the sense that they really make a great face primer and a nice base for foundation application. The only thing I must say, is that the Skin Perfecting Primer only primes, it does not do very much to even out skin tones or anything like that. I still give these primers an A+ though, for the price, you can't beat the quality!

In the photo above: Glamoflauge Concealer with penci in "light", Welcome Matte Powder in "Mattifying", Moon Glow Powder in "Luminizing". These are all favorites of mine, and I would recommend them to anyone! The Glamoflauge concealer has amazing coverage, and the Welcome Matte powder is my all time favorite setting powder!

Let's move on to bronzer and blush!

Fox in a Box Blush in "Smooth Talker", Blush Crush Baked Blush in "Honeymoon", So Baked Bronzer in "Tiki". Once again, I love all of the products in the photo above, they are such pigmented, beautiful colors! Here are some photos so you can see the colors of them better!

And lastly I will tallk about the eye products I own from Hard Candy!

Sadly I only own one eye shadow duo and eye shadow primer, but some more Hard Candy eye products are next on my list for purchase from the brand. Eyeshadow: Kal-eye-descope Baked Eyeshadow Duo in "Rock n Roll". The eye shadow is very beautiful, super pigmented, totally love it!! The primer is great too! It keeps my shadows lasting all day long and I use it on a daily basis!

So there is my Hard Candy collection! I hope you all enjoyed it and I am happy to share it with you all. If you want a review on any specific product or any more information, don't hesitate to contact me!

Thanks for reading beauties, and until next time: have a good week! :) Stay beautiful!

Femme Couture Haul!

Hey girls!

I hope you are all having an awesome week!

Today I went to Sally Beauty Supply to get some Beyond the Zone hair products (they are amazing, but that's for another post) and of course I ended up browsing the makeup. So I just wanted to share what I got with you guys!

Everything makeup related that I purchased is from a brand called Femme Couture. In Canada, I have only seen it being sold at Sally's. I absolutely love everything I have purchased so far! Today I just got a blush, a lipgloss, and an eyeshadow.

The Eyeshadow I chose is from Femme Couture's Mineral Effects line in shade "Truffle", it's a beautiful shimmery taupe color with finely milled glitter. These eyeshadows are fantastic! They are very pigmented and this taupe color is perfect for Fall, as taupe, bronze, and gold are this year's Fall trends.

The blush I chose is also from the Mineral Effects line. I picked the most natural color they had for my skintone: "Sweet Blush". It is a light to medium pink that is perfect for fair skintones. I did try the blush on my face when I got home and I was pleased with the pigmentation and consistency of the product. You can use it with a light hand to have a natural look or generously for a more dramatic effect. 5 stars for this one, I will be purchasing the other shades! *****

Lastly, because Femme Couture products are buy 2 get 1 free for the month of August, I grabbed a Lip Luster lip gloss. I had previously bought one of these and loved it a lot, the formula, the color payoff and lasting time of this gloss is amazing, I will be purchasing all of the shades in this line from Femme Couture! I got a pretty pink shade "berries n' cream".

Here is a picture of the other Femme Couture products I own. I will keep you all updated on new products I get my hands on from this brand!

Products in photo above:
Femme Couture Lip Luster in "Creamy Coral"
Femme Couture Super Juices Sheer lip gloss in "Creamy Pink"
Femme Couture Mineral Effects eyeshadow in "Pink Sand"

Face of the Day - My first post!

Hey ladies,

Please bear with me as this is my first post and I am new to the blogging world. My name is Carrie, I am 23, and I am studying to become a makeup artist; just to tell you a bit about myself. I decided to create a blog because I spend ALOT of time trying new products and learning new secrets. The key is to share all of my discoveries with all the beautiful ladies out there. I am not the type of girl who splurges on MAC or Urban Decay, although once and a while I will purchase a high end item. So if you are like me (a student who can't afford higher end stuff right now) and want to know about products that can make you look beautiful for less, stay tuned!

Anyway, enough about me, on to what I was going to share with you all in the first place. I just wanted to post a face of the day and tell you how I achieved the look. MOST of the products used are very affordable.

Here is the look:

I will start off by explaining what I used on my face. I started out with my everyday moisturizer. Next I primed my face with Hard Candy Sheer Envy Skin Perfecting Face Primer followed by a generous coat of Revlon's Beyond Natural Skin Matching Makeup in Light. For concealer under my eyes I used Maybelline's FIT ME in shade 115 and for my blemishes I used the Hard Candy Glamoflauge concealer pencil. To set my concealer I used Hard Candy Welcome Matte powder in 287 Mattifying. I used NYC's Smooth Skin Face Powder to set my whole face for an oil free look.

For my eyes, I started off with ELF Studio Eyeshadow Primer (the one that comes with sealer on the other end). I just did a simple taupe smokey eye with my shadows: a light taupe on the lid, a dark taupe in the crease, and a slightly shimmery skin matching shade for a highlight under the browbone. Unfortunately I don't have the names for the individual eyeshadows because they all came in NYX trios and I depoted them, sorry ladies! For eyeliner I used my Real Colors Hydra Eyes Waterproof Gel Eyeliner pencil in Brown and Dirty (it's a very dark brown). I used this for my lashline, tightline, and waterline, and I can't say enough amazing things about these eyeliner pencils. I used Diorshow Maximizer lash primer and topped it off with NYX Doll Eye Mascara for my lashes. For my brows I just used a light powder from my Prestige Brow Perfection Brow Shaping Studio palette in BBK - 04 Medium to Dark.

Lastly I will talk about what I used for cheeks and lips. For bronzer I used Hard Candy's So Baked Bronzer in 129 Tiki. I didn't use this for a contour, just for an all over glow on my entire face. For blush, I used the NYC Blushable Cream Stick in Plaza Pink and I topped that off with a light dusting of Hard Candy Blush Crushed Baked Blush in 127 Honeymoon. On my lips I applied a light layer of NYX Lip Smacking Fun Colors lipstick in 509 Narcissus with Femme Couture Lip Luster in the shade Creamy Coral (Femme Couture cosmetics can be purchased at Sally's Beauty Supply.)

I think a taupe smokey eye is perfect for women like me with very fair skin tones, I find that black, grey, or even brown smokey eyes can be a little too intense and dark for me. The pink cheeks and lips in this look gives it a summery touch.

I really hope you all enjoyed this look and that you rock taupe and pink with products of your own! The products I used above are some of my absolute favorites right now! Please feel free to ask if you have any questions about where to get these products or how to use them.

Have a great week ladies, I will post again soon!
